Chemainus is a pretty little mill town on the east side of Vancouver Island about 30 miles north of Sidney.

This was an interim overnight stop on our way south from Ganges on Saltspring Island.

There is a very small marina there.  We were too large to more inside and was room for only 3 – 4 vessels on the outside.

While we were there the lovely ship
“V+” moored directly astern of us.  I invited them for cocktails.  The owners and their crew of two joined us on Endeavor’s sundeck. 

This was their first trip on this 65’ vessel, in fact their first trip on any power boat.  The boat was just completed by a yard in La Conner.  They are on their way to SE Alaska.

V+ is part of a formula the owner developed for revival of a company involved in the gas exploration business in Houston.  This is a very nice way for them to retire!
